Heading down to Rio for the s*** show that will be the 2016 Summer Olympics?
Apple Maps is making it easier for visitors to dodge riots and the zika virus during the trip with the addition of new transit directions for Brazil’s second most populated city.
The new transit directions are now available for train, bus, ferry, and metro in Rio de Janeiro.
The Summer Olympic games are less than 100 days away, and while Apple Maps might be ready, it’s not clear that the host country will be. Brazil has been rocked by an economic crisis and political unrest with massive protests calling for President Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment. If you do manage to get to a venue it might not be completed on time, or if it’s at an ocean venue there could be a high amount of pollution.
Apple Maps’ transit directions includes transit support for Internorte, Intersul, Metrô Rio, SuperVia, and a few other operators, reports MacRumors. Apple Maps has also added connection to nearby areas so you can go to places like Belford Roxo, São Gonçalo, Magé, Itaboraí, and more all using public transportation.
