The MacBook is a work of art, but looking at all that pretty brushed aluminum might get old for some.

A Belgian design firm is here to help. Any MacBook owner can quickly give their laptop a unique look with wooden skins that can be customized with initials, a favorite sports figure — even their spirit animal!

Bambooti wants to help customers make the MacBook truly personalized. Each skin has a unique grain – cut from bamboo, mahogany, black ash, cherry or mahogany – and the company will engrave or cut out desired designs (the glow of the Apple logo can add intrigue if you choose your design well).

The Bambooti skins quickly soared past a fundraising goal on Kickstarter. Currently, a skin with your own design or emblem can be purchased for $65, about 30 percent off the eventual retail price.

The skins, according to the company, are easy to affix, with an adhesive that does not leave a residue. Bambooti uses real wood derived exclusively from sustainably managed forests.
