Quarterbacks and running backs will often reward their offensive linemen with gifts, but veteran NFL Baltimore Ravens punter Sam Koch recently gave out a particularly welcome high-tech pressie to his teammates — when he handed out Apple Watches.

“I’m thankful of him thinking of us and showing that he appreciates us,” long snapper Morgan Cox said.

Koch was named to his first Pro Bowl last week, and ranks second in the NFL with a 43-yard net average. His gift of smartwatches was reportedly a big hit in the locker room. Player Brynden Trawick was an Apple Watch skeptic at first, but embraced the device after seeing them in action from his teammates.

Given that the Apple Watch has received record levels of customer satisfaction, the positive response isn’t exactly a surprise. And — hey — the fact that it’s 4x more accurate for timekeeping than even an already-impressive iPhone makes it the perfect gift for a sportsman.

The only question I have is whether or not they were Apple Watch Editions? Even I would take a tackle for one of those!
