Adele won't say "Hello" to Apple Music.

Spotify and Apple Music subscribers won’t be able to stream Adele’s highly anticipated album “25” when it is publicly released tomorrow.

The album is sure to be one of the biggest sellers of the year, but according to a report from the New York Times, Adele’s people have informed companies that “25” will not be made available for streaming.

Three sources with direct knowledge of the plans for the release told NYT that Adele was personally involved with the decision to give streaming the cold shoulder. The move comes over a year after Taylor Swift took her album off Spotify due to royalty complaints.

“We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify,” a spokesperson for Spotify told Cult of Mac. “We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy 25 on Spotify alongside 19 and 21 very soon.”

Sales for “25” are expected to be meteoric, especially in the age of paid streaming services. Music executives predict the album could sell 2.5 million copies the first week, making it the highest selling album since N Sync’s ‘No Strings Attached’ in 2000.

Despite shunning Apple Music for her album’s release, Adele has show some love for Apple’s new streaming service. The singer made a recent Beats 1 appearance to talk to Zane Lowe about the challenges of writing the new album and balancing her parenting life with her music ambitions.

It’s unclear whether Adele will make the album available on Apple Music and Spotify a few weeks or months after the release. The singer reportedly wanted Apple to sell physical copies of “25” in stores, but the company refused.
