Apple debuted three new iPhone 6s ads over the weekend, showcasing not only the new features of Apple’s latest handset, but also its impressive ability to rope in A-list stars to help sell its products.

Two of the ads, “Flip a Coin” and “Crush,” feature Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx, while the third, “The Camera” boasts NBA MVP Steph Curry. Check them out below.

Flip a Coin

Showing off Siri’s new unplugged hands-free feature (accessible to iPhone 6s users by saying “Hey, Siri”), the ad depicts Foxx asking Siri to flip a coin for him to help him choose between two potential movie scripts. “Sci-fi western it is,” Foxx concludes.

Crush

“Hey Siri, how do I look?” says Jamie Foxx as he ties a tie in the mirror. “Judging from your voice, I’d say you must be fairly attractive,” Siri responds. Foxx then teases Siri about having a crush on him.

The Camera

Taking the form of an overview of features, Apple’s third new iPhone 6s ad shows off the handset’s Live Photos, 4K video, and slo-mo shooting. In a kinda-sorta play on words, Steph Curry then makes an appearance to shoot a perfect three-pointer.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of Apple’s celebrity-driven ads. Yes, we get that the company has some big-name celebrity supporters (and has for years), but wheeling out a couple of A-listers always feels like a bit Samsung-ish in its laziness.

Particularly when you compare it to some of Apple’s genuinely great recent campaigns, like the game-changing “Shot on iPhone.”

What do you think? Am I being a Monday morning grouch here, or could Apple step up its game in terms of iPhone advertising?
