We’ve had various glimpses of the iPhone 6s itself, but until now we’ve not seen the beautiful, crisp white packaging it will come in.
That (may have) changed, with a new leaked photo appearing to show the box for the phablet-size iPhone 6s Plus. Like the next-gen iPhone itself, the box doesn’t differ substantially from the design of its predecessor, although the packaging does feature a few revealing details.

Chief among these details is the new iOS 9 wallpaper, depicting a black-and-gold fish. There’s also the first “official” confirmation we’ve had of the name iPhone 6s, which most people were expecting, but hasn’t been confirmed by Apple.
In recent years, the company has thrown a few naming curve balls at users, such as the decision to call the iWatch the Apple Watch. At one point, it was suggested that the significant innovations featured in the iPhone 6s were enough that Apple was considering calling it the iPhone 7.
Accompanying the photo are additional details about the battery capacity for the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It is reported that the iPhone 6s will reduce the iPhone 6’s 1,800-mAh capacity to 1,715 mAh, while the iPhone 6s Plus will deliver 2,750 mAh, down from the iPhone 6 Plus’ 2,910 mAh.
Since Apple is unlikely to make phones with a shorter battery life than their predecessor, expect Cupertino to ramp up the efficiency of both the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus to compensate for the smaller battery capacity.
Of course, it’s also worth noting that this could turn out to be a hoax.
