It’s time for our weekly digest of tiny iPhone reviews, courtesy of iPhoneTiny.com, with some extra commentary exclusive to Cult of Mac.

This time, we review Action Bowling Free, Advent Annihilation, Alien Glyphs, Color Expert, Cross Fingers, Fingerzilla, Minigame Party, Monkey Flight, Sound Warp Free, Super KO Boxing 2 Free, and Vintage Video Maker.

APP OF THE WEEK

Color Expert: Superb digital colour wheel. Includes swatch book, photo picker and beautiful emailed palettes. 5/5 $9.99 https://is.gd/b0gIx

An example of a Color Expert emailed palette.

Action Bowling Free: Run-of-the-mill ten-pin game. Ugly and undemanding but fairly good controls. 2/5 Free https://is.gd/aSPrV

Advent Annihilation: Warped festive take on Bank Panic-inspired tap-based shooter Westbang. 3/5 Free https://is.gd/aYHgT

Alien Glyphs: Hunt-and-peck pattern-matching. Lots of modes & beautiful presentation can’t hide tired gameplay. 2/5 $1.99 https://is.gd/aSPk7

Cross Fingers: Fiddly multitouch tangram game. Bizarrely locks quite fun arcade mode until 120 levels completed 2/5 $0.99 https://is.gd/aSP8F

Fingerzilla: Amusing but brainless and repetitive tap-based monster-movie city destruction game. 2/5 $1.99 https://is.gd/aSL58

Minigame Party: Disappointing WarioWare clone with iffy controls and charmless games. 2/5 Free https://is.gd/b0gR2

Monkey Flight: Yet another catapult game. OK graphics, but nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd. 2/5 Free https://is.gd/aQOkM

Sound Warp Free: Drag-based audio manipulation. Too limited for practical use and not fun enough for play. 1/5 Free https://is.gd/aSPo5

Super KO Boxing 2 Free: Punch-Out!! clone. Fantastic graphics & OK controls, but gameplay a little lacking. 3/5 Free https://is.gd/aYGWo

Vintage Video Maker: Old-style effects for iPhone 3GS videos. Great results, iffy interface. 3/5 $1.99 https://is.gd/b0bn4

Color Expert is a good example of why developers should update their apps. The original version was a little limited and problematic in a number of areas. Now, the app rivals desktop color wheels that cost significantly more, and the emails it sends with your defined palettes are wonderful. I’d like to see support for multi-scheme wheels, but otherwise Color Wheel is a fantastic addition to any designer’s toolkit.
