Apple Now Accepting iPad Apps, Planning “Grand Opening” of iPad App Store

Apple is now accepting iPad apps for a “grand opening” of the iPad App Store, according to an email just sent to registered developers.

“iPad will begin shipping soon and your opportunity to be part of the grand opening of the iPad App Store starts today,” the email says.

There’s no details about when the store’s grand opening will be. Apps have to be submitted by March 27 to be part of the grand opening. The iPad is due to hit stores on April 3.

the grand opening is likely April 3. this double review thing is probably also hype to get apps triple checked and to offer up prime placement on the stores front page and even maybe in store demo units. Some spots will be big names but a few will likely be held back for small publishers that have done something really awesome. As they have done with the iphones and touches
