    talk about msn. for the UK the lack of decent msn clients other than adium is an issue that new adopters dont understand. especially the lack of video conferencing.

    I’ve never been able to use a MSN chat client on my Mac. I’ve tried stand alone and through Adium, and they just doesn’t work. Probably because it’s a Microsoft or Microsoft related app.

    regarding msn chat i would suggest https://www.meebo.com/ or http://imo.io , two online multi-chat websites.

    Thank you, CoM, for all the tips (i’m a newcomer too).

    Command + Q.

    I switched everything about a year ago and now everyone wants to use my Macs after hearing me rave about them. Problem? Windows users are used to the “red x” closing any and all of the random “windows” that Windows throws at them. So when I get my Mac back, I have every program running since Windows users make the (il) logical move of hitting the red button to close a program.

    Command + Q, Windows switchers, Command + Q

    I just switched. The thing that always got me was the Cmd button, and the really bad MSN clients! iChat is actually quite hard to set up from someone who has never used a mac before…

    @Chris

    go to adiumx.com and download adium. its a very customizable msn client. it wont look like windows live messenger, and will take a while to get used to, but once you have its great.

    if you dont like that, theres trillian.im which is in beta testing and every now and then gets an update with the new features towards launch.
