Square continues to add to its lineup of small business tools, especially for owners and managers who want an overall better grip on their businesses. It’s introducing a new Dashboard app that does just that: it lets owners track sales in real-time right from an iPhone. Still, the only requirement is a free Square account.

The Dashboard app is for more than just tracking sales in real-time though, you get a full layout of analytics about your business and powerful tools for things like comparing sales with previous days, weeks, months and years. Plus if you oversee multiple venues at multiple locations, you can view sales for all of them within the single app. It’s super convenient for getting vital updates about your business while you’re on the go.

Additionally, Dashboard works for tracking your inventory. You can see stock across all your stores so you know what you’re running low on and need to refill. Dashboard also lets you know which are your top-selling items and services.

To make the most of Dashboard and many other Square products and services, you have to be fully committed to everything Square has to offer. That means process all of your business’s payments through Square and manage your inventory as well. Of course, that’s becoming easier over the years with new products like the Apple Pay reader.

Still, Dashboard provides a simple way to track your business in detail without having to use desktop software so you can quickly check things out no matter where you are. Square’s new app is free for the iPhone, as is setting up an account.
