Be honest. When you got your first flip phone, you flicked your wrist to open it and said “Kirk to Enterprise” or “Beam me up, Scotty!”

It was fun to pretend, but the true Star Trek fan has been clamoring for a more authentic experience, a phone that looks like the real Star Fleet issued communicator.

Come January, you will be over the moon (or moons depending on the planet) when the Wand Company begins shipping a Bluetooth handset that looks identical to an original series communicator.

Yes, it will have a wide range of Star Trek sound effects, including the calling chirp, and promises to have a high-quality speaker for making calls or streaming music. According to the specs, it is constructed with pressed metal, die cast metal, machined aluminum and textured ABS and “structure-light 3D scanning” made sure no detail was compromised.

It will boldly go with any mobile device and has a built-in polymer lithium battery that is charged on a stylish base.

For the Star Trek fan into cosplay, the $149.95 price tag will seem reasonable.

The Wand Company has been around since 2009 making authentic-looking wizard wands for gesture-based remote controls.

Based in the United Kingdom, the Wand Company is now branching out into other geek subcultures with Doctor Who inspired sonic screwdriver remotes and now Star Trek.
