Pinterest is looking for fresh blood to inject some more life into it’s mobile experience this year, so the company announced that it has nabbed Scott Goodson, a former Apple and Facebook engineer, to come in and improve the app’s performance across various platforms.

While Goodson wasn’t a high-profile employee during his time at Apple, he was one of the first ten engineers to work on iOS 1.0 that help turned the iPhone into one of the world’s most popular mobile platforms.

Scott was the primary author of the Calculator and Stocks apps. He also worked on Public Transit for Maps, Accounts for YouTube, Settings for iPad and served as the tech lead for Game Center. At Facebook, Goodson managed the Paper team as well as led the rewrite of the core Facebook app. He also worked at Instagram on the iPhone and iPad engineering teams, giving him a wealth of experience that could pay off big for Pinterest.

With more than 80% of Pinners coming to Pinterest though mobile devices, Scott’s talents will be utilized to lead a team responsible for developing user interface and improve performance and architecture on both iOS, Android and the web.
