Oh. My. God.

Forget the iPad, kids, just forget it forever. You don’t need one anymore. Because the guys at E4 have created… ePad. It’s more than amazing. It’s amazinger.

E4, for those of you who don’t know, is a UK digital TV channel aimed at 15-35 year olds. It is home to a lot of American and British comedy shows, dramas and sitcoms, but also has a reputation for unsual, quirky and funny channel idents. Of which this is the latest example.

The machine they’ve chosen for their gag is actually a Compaq Portable III, dating from 1987. According to Old Computers, it boasted a 12MHz Intel 80286 processor, as much as 2MB (!) of RAM, a 40MB hard disk, and a 1200 baud modem. Yes folks: this was 1987”s MacBook.

    I’m sick of the geeks that don’t know nothing about business and they think they are in possesion of the truth, so every gadget has to be made for them and it has te be a mix of all the current tecnhnology industry chips and flashes and everything has to be in the gadget. Stop looking at your belly, they do products to make money and an multitouch mac is not a good idea.

    Thank you telling us it was a Compaq III. I was severely racking my brain trying to remember where/when I used one of those puppies. They weren’t too bad at the time…

    The greatest thing about the EPAD is its pinky color, I think they want to target girlies as their primary customers ;) But then they have to give away a free boyfriend (as free silicon cases for iPhones 4) to each of them just to carry it around.
