The Typo Keyboard is dead. Long live… well, other iPhone 6 cases, we guess.

In a rare win for BlackBerry, the company today announced that it has come to an agreement with Typo, the Ryan Seacrest-funded company behind the BlackBerry-style iPhone keyboard. The agreement means that Typo will cease selling its keyboards for any device under 7.9-inches in size.

“Typo Products LLC, Typo Innovations LLC, Show Media LLC, Hallier Investments LLC, and Laurence Hallier have agreed to permanently discontinue selling anywhere in the world keyboards for smartphones and mobile devices with a screen size of less than 7.9 inches,” a press release sent out by BlackBerry noted.

Other terms of the settlement — including how much money was paid — are confidential. BlackBerry previously won an injunction barring sales of the first-gen Typo Keyboard for the iPhone 5, with Typo recently forced to stump up $860,000 in damages for selling the product.

Strangely, losing this court case apparently convinced Typo that it would be okay to release a follow-up keyboard for the iPhone 6. It did, and BlackBerry sued again — leading to today’s result.

Will this finally be the end of it, we wonder? Surely there can’t be that many people still hankering after a BlackBerry-style keyboard here in 2015.
