Android Wear isn’t officially iPhone-friendly just yet (though it should be very soon) but you can already connect a Moto 360 to your iPhone. A new Android app called Wear Connect makes the unlikely pairing possible, and it requires no jailbreak or unauthorized hacks.

The video below shows you how to get set up.

First, let’s go over the caveats. Because this isn’t an official solution, there are some limitations; you shouldn’t expect your Moto 360 to do as much when connected to your iPhone as it does with an Android device.

Google Now, fitness tracking, and other features won’t work, and of course, without an Android Wear app for iOS, you won’t be able to sync new watch faces to your Moto 360.

Having said that, you might be surprised by how much the Moto 360 can do with an iPhone. Not only will your watch display incoming notifications, but also battery status updates. It will also allow you to control music playback on your iPhone remotely.

One more thing: you’ll need an Android device to pair your Moto 360 with an iPhone for the first time.

Once you’re ready to proceed, simply follow the steps in the how-to video below.

Google has reportedly been working on bringing Android Wear support to iOS for a while, and recent reports have claimed the company could announce a Wear app for iPhone at Google I/O later this month. Until then, we’ll have to settle with third-party workarounds like this one.
