When you’re talking about a device like the Apple Watch — which allows you to send something as intimate as your heartbeat to another person — it’s inevitable that hookup apps aren’t going to be far away.

That’s exactly what WatchMe88 represents: an app designed to alert fellow Apple Watch-owners in your vicinity that you’re single and ready to mingle.

When a possible match is in your location, also running the app, both parties’ Apple Watch will glow with the flush of new love lust. On top of this, the app also features a messaging and “wink” feature which lets you contact people in advance of approaching them for real.

Given the success of phone-based hookup apps like Tinder, the market opportunity is certainly there for whoever can first discover the best way to translate the hookup experience to people’s wrists.

Whatever the solution, there should totally be a gold digger mode which alerts only those people who own a $10,000+ Apple Watch Edition of your interest!

In any event, in case it doesn’t work out as a hookup app, WatchMe88 co-founder Yoav Elgrichi isn’t throwing in the towel for good: He’s also come up with ways to use the app’s technology for advertising purposes.
