Apple Watches are a step closer to hitting our wrists.
Some who preordered watches earlier this month took to Twitter Monday to excitedly report that their order statuses changed from “Processing Items” to “Preparing for Shipment.”
Depending on how quickly you got online in the early hours of April 10, you could be in the first wave of Apple Watches scheduled to arrive on doorsteps in the United States between Friday and May 8.
Apple Watches recently began arriving in U.S. distribution centers from China to begin shipping by FedEx or UPS, reported MacRumors. During the first day of the watch preview in Apple Stores, many people reported their preordered watches would not arrive until June or July because initial runs of certain styles sold out quickly.
The projected shipment date for watches began to change within the opening minutes of preorders because of heavy volume.
The demand for the watch has forced Apple to continue taking orders online only. Walk-in purchases at Apple Stores aren’t likely to begin until June.
