Is it time to upgrade your SLR? thanks for the pic John Kratz on Flickr!

If you’ve been coveting a shiny new Nikon DSLR and have daydreams of upgrading, now is a great time to tickle your fancy—Nikon’s instant rebate savings sale has begun.

Until March 27th, you can save a bunch of money any one of Nikon’s four most popular lenses when you buy it along with any Nikon DSLR body. The amount of the rebate will depend on which lense you buy:

  • Buy the 70-200mm with any SLR and get a $400.00 instant rebate
  • Buy the 24-70mm with any SLR and get a $300 instant rebate
  • Buy the 24-120mm with any SLR and get a $200.00 instant rebate
  • Buy the 18-200mm VRII with any SLR and get a $250.00 instant rebate

If you do decide to cash in on the rebate, be cautious where you buy from. Many authorized Nikon retailers have not yet updated their sites to offer the instant rebate. Or if they have, you’ll only be able to get the discount by buying a special lense and camera body “outfit.” If you toss the camera body and the lense into your cart as two separate items, that generally won’t work (as in you won’t get the instant rebate).

Also, if your retailer is asking to you mail in a rebate, move on to a different retailer—the rebate should be instant.

Uhhh…. So where can I get my hands on the Fisher Price camera in the photo? I’m camera’d to pieces and my son is now wanting to get his candy-layden fingers on any of them, and my lenses….

@steve haha well my good sir, this fisher price model SLR is a rare one, indeed. it was made for collectors for a very limited time, and is therefore extremely rare.

but if you can find one, you will be among the few and the fortunate—rumors of its legendary build quality and photo-taking prowess make the fisher price a very serious piece of photography equipment!
