We’ve known that Apple Pay is coming sometime in October, but now more details have to come to light about when banks will start supporting the service.

USAA has confirmed to The Daily Dot that its VISA and MasterCard cardholders will be able to make Apple Pay transactions on November 7th. No other bank has given a specific availability date yet.

The Daily Dot spoke with four U.S. banks about their involvement with Apple Pay, and all reiterated their appreciation for Apple’s tokenization security when processing transactions. Instead of the same credit card number used for each transaction, Apple Pay creates a unique identifier string for each purchase that is signed with Touch ID.

“Using the Apple Pay functionality is extremely secure and customers are still protected—zero liability for fraudulent transactions still applies,” a Chase spokesman said. USAA also said that because of tokenization, it will be able to see when a specific transaction was made with Apple Pay.

Apple has outlined that it won’t be collecting any information on purchases, but issuing banks will still know what you’ve bought like they do now.

Apple Pay’s partners include American Express, Bank of America,  Barclays, Chase, Capital One, Citi, PNC, Navy Federal Credit Union, US Bank, Wells Fargo, and USAA. Since USAA is listed as a “coming soon” partner, it’s possible that other banks will support Apple Pay sooner than November 7th.

Next week’s Apple event is expected to reveal more details about Apple Pay, including a launch date. iOS 8.1 betas have revealed Apple Pay’s settings, and new iPads are rumored to include Touch ID for using Apple Pay as well.
