Print Office-Type Documents From Your iPad (When You Get One)

Well, that didn’t take long — app developers have already begun rolling out versions of their apps that’ll expand the capabilities of the iPad, still a good two months away from store shelves. One of the first is ActivePrint, from developer Pocket Watch.

Currently, ActivePrint lets iPhone users pop out things like photos, web pages, plain text and clipboard contents. But Pocket Watch says the new iPad SDK will allow printing of office-type stuff — like word processing docs, spreadsheets and presentations — to any WIndows PC.

…wait, what? You heard right — currently, ActivePrint only outputs to printers connected to a Windows machine. But not for long, the developer says: Mac compatibility should be out in March.

Actually I’m still kinda hoping that Apple will just make it possible to at least print out directly to any WiFi enabled printer…! Why bring iWork to the iPad if you can’t print your stuff out, right…?! And implementing WiFi printing via Bonjour shouldn’t be that hard to do…

But then again, it’s not like Apple really cares…

“Actually I’m still kinda hoping that Apple will just make it possible to at least print out directly to any WiFi enabled printer…”

uhhh… it’s an entirely possible thing for 3rd party software developers to do, so that’s why Apple left it for them to write these software and sell. if Apple did every fucking thing itself on the iPad right out the door, there would be little left for other small app companies to code, and the time spent for apple writing all this extra shit would have delayed iPad release by a long time. Duh!

“And implementing WiFi printing via Bonjour shouldn’t be that hard to do…”

and once again, because it’s NOT hard to do, that’s why Apple left trivial shit like this to one of the THOUSANDS of app developers to take the opportunity and make some money by providing useful software. DUH.

“But then again, it’s not like Apple really cares…”

    you just have no insight.

I found a product and it’s great for printing. You can load it from the app store.
Search for it under “Cortado Workplace”.
Downloaded and test it out. It works great for me.
The best part is that, You can print from any printer using wi-fi or bluetooth, and its free, so you don’t pay nothing for it.
