Batman finally gets a badass Batmobile in Arkham Knight trailer

In all the recent Batman games (Arkham City, Arkham Asylum, Arkham Origins), I’ve always thrilled to Bat-grapple my way to the rooftops, occasionally base-jumping down to glide-kick some nasty thug just asking for that special brand of Bat-justice.

There’s always been one thing missing, though: The Batmobile.

The folks at Rocksteady Games have remedied this sad fact in the latest game in the series, Batman: Arkham Knight, and are showing off a car-porn-filled new trailer to whet our appetite. Check out this bad boy below.

The credits roll in this minute-long trailer with the sound of a high-powered engine revving up, only to reveal itself as the sound of the Dark Knight’s sweet ride slamming its way center screen.

We’re then treated to the hot red lights of the car’s battle mode, and then serious closeups of the angry weaponry this hot-rod armored tank carries within its sleek contours.

There’s the 60 mm cannon, firing kinetic energy ammunition that can pierce 820 mm of steel armor, and the vulcan gun, with antitank and surface-to-air capabilities. The missile barrage, which can target up to six hostiles with 2 kg of blast-fragmentation warheads, is a pretty sight. And, of course, for those non-lethal solutions, there’s a riot-suppression gun that uses non-lethal slam rounds to immobilize combatants with a minimum of long-term trauma.

We’re looking forward to this upcoming release from Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on launch sometime next year.
