Gallery: iPad Software Porn

Earlier on we gave you a post crammed full of iPad hardware pics. But now, some software:

See that iTunes UI? A little bit different. What’s that slider at the top left? Thicker, chunkier controls. I might write a whole post about that.

Here’s the App Store. Looks very familiar.

And this is iBooks. Everyone’s saying Kindle-killer, and I’m not completely convinced about that. It’ll certainly inflict some pain, but the Kindle might still appeal to some people who don’t want all the bells and whistles.

Next two pics show the pixel-doubling effect that makes an existing iPhone app work on the iPad in full screen. Looks OK, but remember that iPhone app controls have been designed to be the right size for fingertips: when pixel-doubled, they might look a bit too large and overly chunky.

    you’re an idiot

  • Gene

That first pic is not iTunes. It’s the iPod app. Easy to confuse, because on a computer, iTunes is both the player and the purchase app; here they are two different apps.
    And @Phil? You’re a moron.

use of “porn” again on CoM is appalling, sorry you think it is cool I suppose you could not be more wrong. it degrades your website I think.

  • Vopat

What is wrong with the use of the word porn? The so-called sexualizing or fetishizing an inanimate objects is nothing new. It’s rather odd that you would find such common metaphor appalling.

Gene: thanks for picking me up on that. You’re right, it’s the iPod app, which I incorrectly named in my haste to get posts up on the night. :)

Sorry, what exact means “UI” in iTunes UI?

  • Alexis

it’s a perfect product that still has room for further versions to add camera and more

they out did themselves yesterday and I will not change that feeling…can you imagine the developers that will be coming out with iPad versions of desktop software…if apple did it why can’t they
