What People Who Have Actually Touched It Say About iPad

Right now, only the people who were at the event have actually touched the iPad. So what are they saying about it?

Comedian and author Stephen Fry said on Twitter:

Ryan Block from GDGT told TWiT: “It’s heavy.” He picked it up and felt it was bulky in comparison to other tablet-like devices. He still liked it, though.

Elsewhere on TWiT, another contributor (sorry, I wasn’t fast enough to pick out who it was, it might have been Andy Ihnatko), said it was fast. It kept up with his finger movements without any fuss at all. The page-turning felt like actual page-turning. That’ll be the A4 chip doing its thing, then.

I’m not sure who said it, it flew through my twitter feed while I was sending one out so it was gone pretty fast, but I just caught it, “Fast, and Sleek.Wicked device”

heh, well spotted jef. that’s a nice summary.

Methinks the early adopters are the first ones to run to an Apple Store and actually try out the device.

The naysayers are the geeks who remain sitting on their butts and watched the ‘Announcement’ that disappointed them. and having never actually tried it out in person.

I’ll drive to the Apple Store tonight, hopefully there are demo models there.

Sorry, Mattzook. Us peons won’t be seeing one, demo or otherwise, for a few months.

Most of the Apple Retail Stores had demo models of the 27″ iMac long before it was generally available to ship/sell. At least I can speak for our California Apple Stores.

I called the i store and ask what is the difference between the pad and the phone and what advantage would i have if i use the pad. do you have a hard drive ? can i plug a memory stick in the pad?

    They hung up on me.
