Do you work in tech? Then why are you wasting your time on a blog rather than doing what you should be doing: coming up with “fresh” new ways to parody Apple.
To prove it is one of the boys, San Francisco ride-sharing service Lyft just dropped its latest commercial, featuring a “me too” impression of Jony Ive.
Hitting all the obligatory checkpoints (white background, tinkly music, design-speak, kinda-sorta British accent), the ad is based around the wacky central premise of — get this! — a designer talking about a pink mustache for a car just as Ive might speak about a next-generation iPhone.
Describing the vehicular facial hair’s “intuitive” and “elegant” design, the ad notes that the company’s creative gurus looked at everything from the pinkness of each hair of the mustache to the curvature of its tips.
It’s inoffensive fun, but surely it’s time for tech companies to get some new material.
Right?
