Frogmind’s excellent Badland has just been updated — adding ten new levels to what was already a fantastic game.

For those who haven’t played it before, Badland is well worth downloading. It’s a flapping game, but one that will cleanse your palate of the sour (if slightly addictive) taste of Flappy Bird, thanks to its gorgeous graphics and well-designed level layouts.

If you’ve not played it before, however, you might want to play the older stages ahead of launching straight into the new ones.

That’s because they’re all super-challenging — embracing the theme of “Doomsday.” What results is great fun for the seasoned Badland player, but would likely be more than a little intimidating for noobs.

Badland is available from the App Store for all iOS devices running iOS 5.1.1 and later.

Unlike previous free updates, it’s worth noting that the new “Doomsday” levels will set you back 99¢ as an in-app purchase.

Still, given the continued quality of the title (and the fact that developers have included a try-before-you-buy-option) this is one in-app purchase we can totally support.
