When last summer solstice we heard tell of the legend that Microsoft was planning to bring ye olde strategy franchise Age of Empires to iOS, we did rejoice greatly.

Today scouts from the Pacific Northwest (read: Redmond, WA) have traveled to bring tidings, and moving pictures, of the game known as Age of Empires: World Domination.

Developer KLabGames proffers:

Age of Empires: World Domination expands the award-winning Age of Empires series by building an intuitive, yet deep, mobile strategy game. In the game, players create an empire by commanding all-time favorite heroes and civilizations. Players will also experience intense battles that allow them to deploy advanced tactics with simple and intuitive touch gestures.

While the news is well received, for now we have naught but words and short pictures to rely on for evidence of how the merriment shall appear when it lands upon iOS shores this summer.

On the one hand, our hearts are gladdened to see such a perennial favorite make its way to yonder iPad and iPhone for what should be a whole new real-time-strategy gaming experience.

On the other hand, if said game is loaded with IAPs we will be forced to say “What witchcraft is this?” and protest greatly — for regular demands of gold will make peasants of us all.
