I wonder why every backpack doesn’t use a roll-top. They’re waterproof, they’re mechanically simple (and therefore they never go wrong), they let you extend the size of the bag and they form a handy grippy handle.
They also look cool, and the Becket bag has one.
YNOT’s Becket has pockets on the back, an optional laptop sleeve inside and a pair of padded shoulder straps. On the side there’s a d-lock holder for cyclists, and there’s a breathable panel on the front (the part that touches you back).
And finally, if you don’t like roll-tops, there’’s and optional Pocket Lid that covers the top and puts a zip-up pocket in a flip-over flap.
If you’re not familiar with roll tops, it’s a waterproof closure that puts a fastener on each side of a gaping opening, kind of like a snorkel hood on a coat. You flatten the opening and roll, and then when its cinched down tight, you clip the fasteners together. That’s it. It’s lightweight, keeps water in or out and never breaks or leaks, unlike a zipper.
