A massive 87% of iOS users are currently running some version of iOS 7 — according to the latest numbers revealed on Apple’s developer site.
The figure is up from 85% at the end of March, and 83% one month ago, when Apple introduced iOS 7.1. This update added several new features such as CarPlay, and also tweaked iTunes Radio, the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and Siri.
After iOS 7, Apple’s latest figures indicate that 11% of active users run iOS 6, while 2% run earlier versions of the mobile operating system. The figures confirm what most fans already know: how far Apple is above other more fragmented companies when it comes to adoption of its newest software.
Although iOS 7 adoption rates will eventually slow down, at the present uptake iOS 7 will have almost total adoption by August.
