Turn You iPad Into A Laptop For $40

By

I’m no fan of keyboard cases that try to pretend that the iPad is in fact a miniature laptop, and I expect that if I used the FAVI Swivel Screen Portfolio Case with Bluetooth Keyboard (iPad Air) I’d hate it as much as any other. But I figure it’s worth a mention becasue of its neat modular design.

The FAVI comes in three parts. A shell case for the iPad Air, the keyboard itself, and a connecting bracket. This joins to the back of the iPad case by means of a swivelling turret that lets you twist between portrait and landscape. The bottom part of the hinged bracket slots into the back of the keyboard like a ribbon cable slipping into an RS232 port.

The rig is certainly very flexible in terms of configuration, but I’m not sure why you’d prefer this over the Logitech keyboard cover, or a regular Apple Bluetooth keyboard paired with the excellent Incase Origami stand/case/cover.

Well, you might prefer the price. At $40 you could buy 2.5 of these for every one Logitech keyboard. But in the realm of keyboards, you definitely get what you pay for.
