Personal media organizer Plex has just received a major iOS update.

The biggest new feature offered by the update is the automatic upload of camera roll photos to your media server, provided that you have a Plex Pass subscription (available at $3.99 per month, $29.99 per year, or $74.99 for life).

Plex version 3.4.0 adds also play queues and shuffle support, as well as music and photo support for Chromecast — along with making the app’s Chromecast feature (which previously required a Plex Pass) free for all users.

On top of this there’s the omnipresent, but unspecified, bug fixes tweak.

The new version of Plex is available now in the App Store as a free update, or as a new $4.99 download. The app is compatible with iOS devices running iOS 5.1.1 or later.
