It’s not because it taught me a valuable lesson about not mixing chemicals or that someone shot me, and I had Mad Skills Motocross 2 in my pocket, and it stopped the bullet. And it didn’t swim out and rescue me when I went beyond my depth in the grown-up pool.
No, Mad Skills Motocross 2 saved my life by teaching me that I should never, ever, attempt to ride a motocross bike. Because I will die.
I’m not very good at this game, is what I’m saying. But it’s still pretty good.
It shouldn’t be hard, really. You just have a brake, an accelerator, and two buttons that let your driver shift his weight to keep the bike from flipping. And it’s a straight-line racing game, so you’re not going to use those brakes very often, if ever. So that’s like three buttons to keep track of.
And I can’t. But you might be able to, so don’t let me scare you off here.
I should never, ever, attempt to ride a motocross bike. Because I will die.
I’m exaggerating a bit here; I got the hang of it after a few gloriously incompetent runs, and I even started winning races, which is good because that’s kinda the main point.
Lesser points include bragging to your friends on social media and unlocking fancy new bikes and equipment. Unlocking of the schmancier rides requires you to perform certain in-game tasks (e.g. doing two flips during a race and winning), which is definitely a step up from playing the same levels repeatedly to get enough tokens.
But be prepared to fail at first. And then be prepared to laugh. Because the realistic physics in this make every spill hilarious.
Game Name: : NAME The Good: Few controls that stay out of your way, addictive “just one more race” effect, really cool physics. The Bad: Those same physics sometimes mean that the game will put you into an inescapable flippy spin which is as unavoidable as it is extreme. The Verdict: It’s an unobtrusively free-to-play game with a lot of fun packed into it. Buy from:App Store – Mad Skills Motocross 2 – Turborilla |
