Well hello, fine sir. Might you have some loot we can stab out of you?
Well hello, fine sir. Might you have some loot we can stab out of you?

What’s that, you say? You’ve been longing for a retro, old school, three dimensional dungeon crawler to take with you on your iPhone and iPad?

Look no further than Coldfire Keep, a brand new first person dungeon crawler from Steve Jarman and Crescent Moon Games. You’ll have to make your way through this beautifully rendered 3D dungeon, full of monsters, puzzles, hidden secrets and–natch–tons of loot.

It should be in the App Store tonight (February 19) by 11 pm Eastern time here in the US, if all goes according to plan, and it’s looking pretty sweet, if the video below is to be trusted.

Apparently, there’s an ancient power hidden deep within the catacombs of Coldfire Keep and it’s threatening your peaceful town of Newsettle. You’ll round up four of your in-game buddies to roam the halls of the forsaken dungeon, taking it upon yourself to become heroes of the realm (no one else is gonna do it).

Coldfire Keep promises to be an old-school dungeon crawler. It was developed by the same guy who made the Descend RPG, which has many of the same retro features as Coldfire Keep, meaning they’re based on classic late 1980s and early 1990s dungeon crawler games like Wizardry, The Bard’s Tale and Megami Tensei. The genre has seen new life in the last few years, thanks to the success of Atlus’ Etrian Odyssey or Class of Heroes.

Coldfire Keep should keep you busy and crawling for over ten hours of classic adventure in this Universal app, coming in at a $4.99 price point.
