This afternoon Sundar Pichai revealed the dates for Google’s annual developer conference, Google I/O, where developers across the globe descend on San Francisco to learn what’s next.

The 7th annual Google I/O will be held on June 25-26, but if you want to get in you’ll have to win a lottery.

Along with the dates, Pichai revealed the company is switching to a lottery system for developers wishing to attend the event. Rather than scrambling to register when the flood gates open, you can submit an application to attend, with successful applicants being randomly selected shortly after.

Full details on registration will come next month, but if you can’t make it to Moscone West there are still plenty of ways to get the Google I/O experience remotely. The event will be available via a live stream and Google has I/O Extended community events scheduled around the world.
