Plex Inc. has slashed 50% off all of its mobile apps for Android and iOS for a limited time, including Plex for Google TV. “This sale will last about as long as most relationships,” the company says, so you’ll need to get in quick to take advantage of the offer.

The sale reduces the original Plex app for Android and iOS from $4.99 to $2.49, while Plex for Google TV is down from $0.99 to $0.49 on Google Play.

For those unfamiliar with Plex, it’s a hugely popular media streaming app that allows you to enjoy the personal media stores on your computer and in the cloud on your mobile devices. Simply install the Plex Media Server on your Mac or PC, and you can then connect to it and access music, videos, and other media remotely.

Plex is also compatible with Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and other online storage services, and it even allows you to queue online video from the likes of YouTube, Revision3, and TED.

If you watch a lot of content on your mobile devices, but you don’t have the storage to keep it all locally, then Plex is a must-have. And of course, you can’t beat a half price deal, so go grab it now before the price goes back up.
