If you want an SLR-style mirrorless camera, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 is the camera to beat. But if you don’t want to spend $1,000 on the Micro Four Thirds body, then you can now opt for the OM-D E-M10, a $700 body which uses lots of it’s big brother’s parts.
The new camera is a mini marvel, using the same 16MP sensor as the E-M5 with a maximum ISO of 25,600, three-axis image stabilization (the E-M5 has five axes) and built-in Wi-Fi, for easy sharing with your Mac of iOS devices. It also includes the not-so-great 1,440,000-dot electronic viewfinder from the E-M5, and as you can see from the pictures you get the cool retro styling and manual dials that make using a camera so much easier and faster.
Between this and the Fujifilm XT1, this week is turning out to be pretty special for fans of manual-control cameras. And we still have a day or two left.
Available March.
