To celebrate the Mac’s 30th anniversary today, Apple created an amazing font set made up of tiny little Macs. It depicts every model the Cupertino company has released since the original Macintosh made its debut back in 1984, and with the right URL, you can download it for yourself.
Apple hasn’t been advertising the download, so it isn’t easy to find — but iOS developer Greg Barbosa stumbled across the link today after digging around on Apple’s website. The icons are the same ones used on Apple’s homepage today in its 30th-anniversary content.
The font doesn’t act like a regular font, though, so you won’t be able to access the icons by hitting keys on your keyboard. Instead, they’re accessible through the OS X Font Book, where you’ll be able to copy them before pasting them elsewhere.
We have no idea how long the font will be available to download — or whether Apple will change the URL once it finds out we’ve discovered it — so you’ll want to grab it as soon as you can.
