Apple fans with a penchant for gaming have been able to use their PS3 controllers on the Mac for a while. A new jailbreak tweak now adds that functionality to iOS devices.

Called Controllers for All, the $1.99 jailbreak tweak is available in the Cydia Store, and adds iOS 7 gamepad compatibility to Sony’s PS3 DualShock 3 controller.

For gamers still waiting for the perfect MFi (Made for iPhone) game controller to be released — or simply those who are put off by the high price of controllers currently available — the tweak solves both problems by giving you access to a quality controller, without making you shell out to buy yet another accessory.

To set up Controllers for All, users need to download the jailbreak tweak package and then pair their PS3 DualShock 3 controller with their iOS device using SixPair, available for Windows, OS X, and Linux. After this pairing has taken place, the PS3 gamepad should be compatible with any MFi-enabled iOS game.

Developer Ori Kadosh promises support for further controllers — including the PS4 DualShock 4 — in the near future.
