Sunrise May Be The Best Calendar Alternative For Your iPad

When Sunrise Calendar got its big iOS 7 makeover last fall, it solidified itself as one of the leading third-party calendars in the App Store. The biggest thing it was lacking was an iPad version—well, until now. Released last week, Sunrise had made its way to the iPad, and it’s great.

Sunrise is designed to integrate closely with Google Calendar, but it also supports iCloud. It taps into networks like Facebook and LinkedIn to show upcoming events and birthdays. Google Maps shows directions for event locations. Events can be added via nature language (“meet with John for lunch at 2”), Fantastical-style. The design of the app is super clean, and the attention to detail makes it worth checking out.

The main two additions alongside the iPad release are a new week view and background updates. The update is available to the existing app, which is now a universal download. Check Sunrise Calendar out in the App Store for free.
