Get A Live Weather Icon In iOS 7 With This Jailbreak Tweak

iOS can support dynamic icons: just look at the subtly changing clock icon in iOS 7, where the minute hands change in real-time throughout the day according to the time. So why not do the same with weather?

It’s unknown why Apple didn’t think of this first, but if you have a jailbroken iOS 7 device, you can now have a live Weather icon anyway, thanks to a new jailbreak tweak.

Called (appropriately enough) LiveWeatherIcon, the jailbreak tweak is developed by Hamza Sood, a rather well-known jailbreak developer who created the SiriToggles package, which allowed you to use Siri to turn on and off all sorts of features on your device.

LiveWeatherIcon changes the app icon of your default Weather app to show the current prevailing conditions. The icon will update itself in the background and keep showing the conditions outside in real-time.

LiveWeatherIcon isn’t free, and will cost you a $1.00, but if you’d rather glance at your home screen then out the window, this is a good tweak for you.
