Accessory manufacturer iDevices has announced a couple of new grilling tech products to be showcased at CES 2014 next week.
Both the iGrill2 Bluetooth Smart Meat Thermometer and the iLP Bluetooth Smart Liquid Propane Monitor are app-connected products which aim to improve the user’s grilling efficiency.
The iGrill2 will retail at $100 and allows owners to monitor the temperature of their food as it cooks, using a free iDevices Connected App. The iGrill2 works up to 150 feet away from the actual site of cooking. The device features an LED display with proximity wake-up, magnetic mounting, four probe ports and a battery life of 150-hours.
The iLP propane monitor, meanwhile, uses ultrasonic sensors for an accurate reading of the propane level in a barbecue tank. By leaving the sensor on the bottom of the propane tank, the user will be alerted by app when propane is low, and the location of the nearest refill. Pricing is yet to be announced.
Both innovations will work with newer iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch models.
Android versions will be available at a later date.
