Referred to as “Swipey”, a new jailbreak tweak allows iOS 7 users to access six different apps via a left swipe from their iDevice lock screen — giving you all the features associated with a lock screen launcher, minus the clutter.

Once Swipey has been installed (and, like the Virtual Home tweak we reported on earlier today, you’ll need a jailbroken device for this to work) you can set custom app slot from Swipey’s preferences within the Settings app. Once this is done, simply head to the lock screen to see Swipey at work.

Swipey also includes passcode support — although the optimal experience is for devices without one enabled.

The tweak is currently available in the BigBoss repository at a cost of $1.99.

Feedback so far seems very positive, although one of my Cult of Mac colleagues did suggest titling this story “New Jailbreak Lets You Launch Apps Accidentally From Your Pocket”.

Hopefully not.
