It’s at least six months until Apple reveals iOS 8, and probably nine months until we see the iPhone 6 for the first time, but that hasn’t stopped Eric Vasille of iPhonesoft from imaging what the iPhone 6 and iOS 8 will look like.

And what does he imagine? On the hardware-side of things, a larger edge-to-edge display (doubtful) with an iPad Air inspired design (possible) that is only six milimets thin with an SD card slot (nope) and a 20 megapixel camera (sure, why not).

iOS 8, on the other hand, is jus a slightly refined version of iOS 7, which seems pretty likely: Jony Ive isn’t going to recreate Apple’s mobile operating system twice in as many years. Now comes the polish.

Vasille also imagines the iPhone 6c as a plastic-backed version of the iPhone 6, but I’m doubtful we’ll see that this year: it’s more likely to me that Apple will simply upgrade the chip inside the current iPhone 5c to an A7 chip and sell the current iPhone 5c unchanged for another year than update it significantly next year, but I could be wrong.
