If you’ve never given the classic Fallout games a try, now’s your chance. GoG.com is giving three of them away for free for 48 hours, as part of the classic games digital distributor’s Winter Sale for 2013.
You can get the Mac version of Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics for free until Friday, December 12, so get on it now.
Since the rights for these games are changing hands as of the end of 2013, GOG.com won’t be able to sell them, though if you buy them now, you’ll have access to them on GOG.com as long as the site remains up.
These are classic RPG and tactical strategy games, ones that many gamers sunk tons of hours into in the past. Fallout 1 was released by Interplay back in 1997, and the sequel, Fallout 2, came out the following year. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, published in 2001 by 14 Degrees East, is a turn-based, real-time tactical role-playing game set in the same post-apocalyptic universe as the rest of the Fallout series, which has gone on to consoles and bigger, more modern triple-A titles since.
Even if you don’t know much about the genre, or the Fallout series, grabbing three seminal, award-winning games for your Mac for free seems like a no-brainer, so get yourself on over to GOG.com and download these immediately.
While you’re there, of course, you can learn more about the DRM-Free games that GOG.com specializes in via their 2013 Winter Sale, offering over 600 fantastic classic games for 50 percent off, until the sale ends on December 29.
