Two years after the rumors first started swirling, and months after the company began recruiting retail staff, Apple has confirmed on its official website that a new Apple Store is indeed opening in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The Apple Store — which will be Germany’s thirteenth — will open its doors for the first time this Satuday, December 14 at 10am local time.
The first 1,000 visitors will reportedly receive a free Apple t-shirt. (If it’s anything like the opening of the opening of the Berlin store earlier this year — where lines were already wrapping around the block 10 hours before opening — you may want to get there early.)
The store is situated in the upmarket Kö-Bogen shopping center, in the city’s Königsallee area. The area is already home to stores from a number of luxury brands including Hugo Boss, Prada, Armani, and Tiffany & Co.
Apple currently has more than 400 retail stores worldwide, and plans to open a further 30 over the coming 12 months.
A Hanover Apple Store is supposedly in the works.
