Are you an Android user with $57,000 to spare proving that the gold iPhone 5s isn’t the gaudiest phone around?

Well, you may be pleased then to hear about a new line of blinged-up phones from Swiss designer Alessandro Savelli.

According to Savelli’s official website, here’s what you get for your money in terms of technical specifications:

  • Android Operating System. Runs also Google apps Maps, Gmail, YouTube etc.
  • 32 GB of total memory
  • Micro USB
  • Bluetooth
  • WIFI 802.11 b/g
  • GSM QuadBand coverage worlwide (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz)
  • WCDMA (3G) Triband (850/1900/2100 Mhz), download HSDPA max 7.2 Mbps, upload HSUPA 5.8 Mbps
  • PC and Mac synchronisation

Of course, no one is buying one of these phones for their tech spec alone — but rather the uber-chic (read: offensively materialistic) design of each unit.

There are 11 variant models in all — on sale at luxury UK retailer Harrods — with an asking price of around £35,000 ($57,000).

One unit (the Savelli Champagne Diamond) is made from 18-carat rose gold and boasts 395 white diamonds. Another, for those of simpler tastes, is black leather and handcrafted from colored alligator skin.

There are plenty of others, too, with most covered in some combination of expensive jewellery, dead animals, and the faint aroma of future bankruptcy filings.

We have just one other question: what happens when it’s time to upgrade?
