Crescent Moon Games, the studio behind quite a few amazing mobile iOS games (Siegecraft, Pocket RPG, Paper Monsters), has just released its latest: Space Chicks.
Ignoring the obvious “damsel in distress” trope, this game plays like a spectacular mashup of games like Little Galaxy, Tiny Wings, and Jetpack Joyride, with gravity-affected planet hopping, coin collecting, and space-girl saving that will keep you playing long into the evening.

Space Chicks is an endless runner of sorts, giving you the task of rescuing space women from various levels. Your little space man character crashes on the beginning planet of each level, running around it endlessly. You tap to have your little guy jump when he’s in the correct position, and longer taps mean longer jumps. The gravity of the various worlds affect your trajectory, making learning and managing physics the main strategy.
After each planetary system you jump through, saving a few space girls along the way, you’ll jump into a space ship, which then is controlled with the same one-tap, only this section feels more like Tiny Wings, as you try to raise and lower the spaceship on the screen to gather coins and hearts (lives).
It’s a fun game on its own, but it gets even better with a buddy. The same-screen multiplayer is simply delightful, and playing on an iPhone just as easy as playing on the larger screen of an iPad, which is no mean feat. You each get a space dude, and you can each rescue the various damsels in distress, and you each get a spaceship to jump into at the end. It’s simple multiplayer and it’s super fun.
So, if you’ve got a spare dollar, grab a friend, head on over to the app store, and give this one a try; you won’t regret it.
