The official Google Music app for iOS, which will allow Google Play Music All Access subscribers to enjoy the music streaming service on iPhone and iPad, is now “imminent,” a reliable source reports.
We initially expected the app to arrive last month, following an October 3 report from Engadget’s Matt Brian. But it was noted then that “while employees have been invited to test the app, Google still needs to fix a few bugs before it’s ready for release.”
It appears fixing those bugs may have taken a little longer than expected, then, but the ever-reliable @evleaks reports that Google Music for iOS is now “imminent.” We don’t have a more specific release date, unfortunately, but “imminent” suggests to me that it should be available within the coming days.
There’s already a Google Music web app compatible with iOS devices, of course, but it’s lacking lots of features and leaves much to be desired. Furthermore, Google knows it’ll need native apps if it wants to sell its All Access streaming service to users on other platforms.
Like its rivals, All Access costs $9.99 per month, and it provides you with access to millions of songs on-demand. Users can also create personalized radio stations from their favorite songs or artists, get smart recommendations based on the music they love, and create their own playlists.
