Day One, the beautiful journaling app for Mac and iOS, has just gotten even more beautiful on iOS 7, and added features to boot. I roll my own nerd journal, but if I used a journaling app it’d be Day One. Especially now it has M7 support.

The update adds a slick and simple redesign that fits right in to iOS 7, but its the new features that users will love. First, you can now insert the currently-playing music track into an entry with a dedicated button (iOS’ Music app only).

Second, Forecast.io has been added as a weather source.

Activity tracking. Told you the M7 was going to be interesting.

And third, Activity Tracking! Day One now uses the M7 MoCoPro in the iPhone 5s, the Retina iPad mini and the iPad Air to add your step count and current activity to any entry. This is pretty great, especially as it works with the new iPads.

There are also some other tweaks, including background updating and some great visual improvements on the iPad. Hell, maybe I will start using it now after all. At least when my Retina iPad mini arrives anyway.
