For The Uncoordinated, There’s The WobL iPhone Alarm Clock Stand

We’ve all been there: Some mornings simply aren’t compatible with a task as sophisticated as groping for an iPhone and then pawing at the screen or volume button to activate the snooze.

And for those especially drooly mornings when even smacking a massive rubber button is too much of a challenge, there’s the wobL: a stand-app alarm combo for iPhone that works simply by  — you guessed it — wobbling it.

It’s genius, really. The stand’s rounded base hides a thick metal rod around which it wobbles easily. When the iPhone moves in the stand, it activates wobL’s companion app, which then triggers the snooze. The result? The accompanying video clip it looms as if just groping blindly for the iPhone — and even missing it and smacking the desk instead — will activate the snooze. The only downside is being hours late for work.

wobL is the brainchild of Third Prime Studio, which is based in Portland, Oregon, and is a crowdfund project hosted at Crowd Supply, which is yet another Kickstarter clone. Early bird wobLs are still available for $25. Expected ship date is June 2014.
