One of the most common criticisms you hear of Apple’s iPad line is that they are expensive compared to the competition. When the iPad mini first came out, for example, it was widely criticized for its entry-level price of $329, with many saying it couldn’t succeed unless it was under $249.

Obviously, such predictions were laughably wrong. But Apple is now selling a $249 iPad mini: a refurbished one!

Right now on their official Refurbished iPad page, Apple is selling the 16GB iPad mini in black & slate for just $249, 80% off its retail price.

It gets better. If you want a 9.7-inch iPad, the fourth-generation iPad with Retina Display, they start at just $379 for a refurbished model. Keep in mind that this is the exact same iPad Apple was selling up until yesterday as their top-of-the-line model.

If you want a tablet, these are sick deals. That $249 price for the iPad mini, even without Retina Display, is pretty sick. If you don’t care about Retina, this is a deal too good to be ignored.
